Sourced through a trusted direct importer rather than our own farm relationship. Duality Coffee is committed to the shortest supply chain with the most direct, positive impact on the farms, communities, and environment.
Everything above the roast line comes from Genuine Origin's documentation for lot GEN26IDC. We buy from them when we don't have our own relationship at origin, because they work directly with producers and name the farms behind a lot. Most of the trade won't.
We haven't been to Aceh Tengah, and we've never met Wagiman or Yasmin. This is a cooperative lot, so cherry from several small farms was pooled and graded together. We can't trace your bag to one hillside.
Farms here run half a hectare to two and a half. Small plots, scattered across remote highland country, worked by families.
Pulped, briefly fermented, then hulled while the beans are still wet and soft. It's a response to a climate too humid for slow drying, and it's the source of the earthy depth in your cup.
The collector network that connects these scattered farms to the wider market is how nearly all Sumatran coffee travels. G1 is the top of a six-grade scale, sorted for consistency rather than blending.
Warehoused stateside under lot code GEN26IDC, which is how this coffee stayed identifiable as itself rather than dissolving into a commodity blend.
We cupped it before we committed to it. That part we can vouch for personally.
Half-pound batch, medium/dark to build body and sweetness without burying the plum and black tea underneath. Check the roast date on your bag… It's recent.
When the bag runs low… You can have this exact coffee again, roasted the day you order it.
